Influenced by Antony Santos, Luis Vargas, Raulin Rodriguez, Luis Segura. Ramón Cordero learned the requinto at the feet of his uncle in the plantain fields of Mao, Dominican Republic. He put the guitar down for two years to care for his dying mother, Altagracia, a vigil that reshaped his understanding of love and loss. Now, from the quiet of her empty house, he writes bachatas not about youthful flings, but about the weight of memory in a survivor's hands. These are the songs of the long silence after.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]

[Bridge]
Por un segundo quise abrirte la puerta,
darte la llave de todo el desorden.
Pero el cemento de Altagracia estaba fresco
y mis manos olían a construcción y a muerte.

[Outro]
