Influenced by Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, Femi Kuti, Hugh Masekela. Fela Kuyo was raised in the shadow of the University of Ibadan, the eldest of six siblings who became a parent at fourteen when his activist father was silenced. His only inheritance was his father's political library and an old saxophone, which he taught himself to play by listening to Fela Kuti records. Today, he still lives in his hometown, his sprawling Afrobeat epics telling the story of a man who carries the weight of his family, his history, and his nation in every note he plays.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The NEPA light goes dark on Ring Road again.
We watch the moon like it's the only loyal friend.
They drew our future in a perfect, patient line—
a slow orbit we follow, by generational design.
We move, but the background never change.

[Chorus]
Omo, we geostationary.
So close to the sun, but the motion is contrary.
Dance with me slow, under this heavy sky,
Find the right angle, make we try to fly.

[Verse 2]
"Your time will come," they smile from the tinted glass.
Their gravity is heavy, a promise built to last.
The air gets thick with speeches and generator fume.
We're counting all the light-years wasted in this room.

[Chorus]
Omo, we geostationary.
So close to the sun, but the motion is contrary.
Dance with me slow, under this heavy sky,
Find the right angle, make we try to fly.

[Bridge]
(vocal suddenly dry, intimate, close)
Whisper am, low-low... what if this long arc is just a pretty cage?
What if this whole rotation is just them turning the page?

[Outro]
Escape velocity...
(Saxophone solo enters: fiery, yearning, breaking free from the groove, playing through the fade)
Geostationary...
