Influenced by James Blake, Mount Kimbie, Burial, D'Angelo, Arthur Russell. Orrin Vellum grew up in a Peckham council flat, teaching himself to play his father's upright piano by ear. After dropping out of Goldsmiths, he spent several years navigating the hidden, transactional economies of London after dark, saving money to build a small bedroom studio. It was there, between 10 PM and dawn, that he began translating the city's hushed confessions and architectural melancholy into his distinct brand of post-dubstep R&B. His music is the sound of London's specific silence, built from glitchy vocal samples, deep sub-bass, and the ghosts of overheard conversations.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Found your old shoebox from the Brixton Foot Locker,
tucked behind the boiler, a forgotten offer.
The notes feel cold, smell of dust and your cheap roll-ups,
a stack of fifties thick enough to build the both of us up.

[Pre-Chorus]
And she's downstairs making tea, counting coppers for the meter.
A signal loss between the man I knew and this silent feature.

[Chorus]
You left a fault line running right under this floor.
Said nothing, just a silence I can't ignore.

[Verse 2]
That Tuesday in November when the rain wouldn't quit,
you swore this whole foundation was legit.
"Trust is a load-bearing wall," you said, your breath on the glass.
Now I'm checking all the corners, hoping the structure lasts.

[Pre-Chorus]
And she's downstairs making tea, counting coppers for the meter.
A signal loss between the man I knew and this silent feature.

[Chorus]
You left a fault line running right under this floor.
Said nothing, just a silence I can't ignore.

[Bridge]
Is this a cornerstone or just a casket, mate?
Your quiet love, or just a heavier weight?

[Chorus]
You left a fault line running right under this floor.
Said nothing, just a silence I can't ignore.

[Outro]
Just the hum of the boiler... and your ledger.
The static's getting louder.
