Lyrics
The Wicker Arches sweat in the last Friday heat,
Her Bacardi Breezer leaving rings on the steel.
Heard the news from her dad, saw the look on his face,
A whole generation feels about to be erased.
[Chorus]
She's a Forgemasters flicker, a flash in the gloom,
Dancing 'til the cranes come for her room.
She's a Forgemasters flicker, a beat in the grey,
Refusing the quiet of Monday.
[Verse 2]
The DJ drops a tune from '92, all bass and hiss,
She turns to her mate, says, "There'll be days we'll miss this."
Her knuckles are white on the side of the booth,
A smile so sharp it could splinter the truth.
[Chorus]
She's a Forgemasters flicker, a flash in the gloom,
Dancing 'til the cranes come for her room.
She's a Forgemasters flicker, a beat in the grey,
Refusing the quiet of Monday.
[Bridge]
(Don't. Stop.)
(Not. Yet.)
(The sound. The heat.)
(Forget. Forget.)
[Chorus]
She's a Forgemasters flicker, a flash in the gloom,
Dancing 'til the cranes come for her room.
She's a Forgemasters flicker, a beat in the grey,
Refusing the quiet of Monday.
[Outro]
The Monday papers, already printed.

He taught himself to play on a free, out-of-tune piano from a local church, and his tracks are built from these raw chords, the city's hum, and vocal chops that ache…
