**Ruby Girl**

With puppy paws and four little feet.
Through birthdays and Christmas, through laughter and tears,
You grew right beside us through all of those years.

Monday you'd be fourteen, our Ruby girl,
For all those years, you filled our world.
We'd give anything for one more day,
To have you here and watch you play.
But the love we shared will never disappear,
It's in every memory, every laugh, every tear.
And when those golden gorse flowers come into view,
We'll always stop and think of you.

Those ears stayed big as the years went by,
And your ginger curls began to grow wild.
You became our Ruby, beautiful and bright,
Our little companion, our family delight.

You'd wait for us whenever we went away,
Then greet us when we came back at the end of the day.
You had your own ways, you knew what you liked,
And if you didn't fancy dinner, you'd leave it on the side!

Now Ruby's Garden grows beneath the sky,
With sunflowers reaching up so high.
Your paw prints have a place there too,
A little piece of home we made for you.

And somewhere beyond that rainbow bright,
I hope you're running through fields tonight.
No pain, no tears, just skies of blue,
With yellow gorse as far as you can see,
And all the places you loved to be.

Monday you'd be fourteen, our Ruby girl,
For all those years, you filled our world.
Though we can't hold you like we did before,
We'll love you just the same forevermore.
Our first little dog, our family, our friend,
A love like ours will never end.
So happy birthday, Ruby, wherever you are,
Our beautiful girl, our brightest star. 🌻
