Thirty-eight years ago, you came into

You've always had a gentle heart,

A kindness running deep,

And everything you give to life

Is something you can keep.

You've got a guitar in your hands,

The wind beneath your wheels,

You chase the things that make you strong,

You follow what you feel.

Your special path is unfolding, David,

Your dreams are coming true.

You are surrounded by love and joy,

And life is opening up for you.

You have strength, you have courage,

You have calmness, peace and light.

Every day is shaping your story,

And your future is shining bright.

There's a love for football in your heart,

Manchester United too,

And when you set your mind on something,

There's very little you won't do.

Now you're riding through the miles,

Training for the Ironman,

Pushing further, reaching higher,

Doing everything you can.

But life is more than finish lines,

More than medals, more than speed.

It's finding balance in the journey,

And knowing what you truly need.

Your special path is unfolding, David,

Your dreams are coming true.

You are surrounded by love and joy,

And life is opening up for you.

You have strength, you have courage,

You have calmness, peace and light.

Every day is shaping your story,

And your future is shining bright.

And through the days that make up life,

There are two who stay close by.

Ollie and Sadie know your heart,

And love you as you are.

Two little souls beside you,

Sharing every day with you,

Making you smile, keeping you company,

In everything you do.

And David, you are worthy

Of a love that's deep and true,

Of someone who sees your beautiful heart

And walks the journey with you.

Your special path is unfolding, David,

Your dreams are becoming real.

You are finding joy in every day,

And you know the life you want to feel.

You have love, you have purpose,

You have everything you need.

Your heart is open, your world is growing,

And the best is still to be.

Thirty-eight candles glowing,

Thirty-eight years of you.

And looking at the man you've become,

There's so much more for you to do.

So keep on dreaming, keep on growing,

Keep on being who you are.

The road ahead is yours to travel,

And you can take it near or far.

Your special path is unfolding...

Your best days are still ahead.

Happy birthday, my darling David.

You are one of the greatest loves of my life.

With all my love, Mom
