Influenced by La India, Oscar D'León, Rubén Blades, Celia Cruz, Chico Sánchez Ferlosio. Raised on the chaotic energy of Caracas's Petare barrio, Marisol Tormenta learned to play a cracked 1970s cuatro from her grandfather. Her voice, forged in the sweaty salsa clubs of Sabana Grande, tells stories of a city and a heart in flux. Two years after a divorce that tore her world apart, she writes and records in the same small apartment she once shared with her ex-husband. These songs are the sound of her reclaiming the space, one defiant chorus at a time.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]

[Verse 2]
“No seas tan dramática”, dijiste, qué ironía,

[Bridge]
(Rhythmic breakdown: only percussion, dembow pulse, and vocals)
(VOCAL BECOMES COMPLETELY DRY, CLOSE-MIC'D, SPOKEN)
A veces me despierto y todavía está oscuro.
(SUNG, RHYTHM BUILDS INTENSITY)
¡Fuego! ¡Fuego!

[Outro]
Que ya no se calla…
Oye, Petare, ¡que ya no me callo!
