Let Her Fade

[Verse 1]
Oh, memory, leave her name outside my door,
I’ve said “I’m over her” a thousand times before.
Her shadow still sits where the lamplight falls,
And every quiet night, my heart recalls.

[Chorus]
Oh, memory, let me forget her tonight,
Let her fade like a song slipping out of my sight.
I’m tired of holding what’s already gone—
Oh, memory, help me move on.

[Verse 2]
I packed up her letters, but kept one unread,
It sleeps in the drawer by the side of my bed.
I tell myself morning will loosen the ache,
But dawn finds the pieces I thought I could shake.

[Bridge]
If forgetting is mercy, then show me the way;
I don’t want to miss her more than today.

[Outro]
Oh, memory, hush—let her name drift away.
