Still Holding On

# 🌹 “Every Day, I Choose You”

A love song for Gerald & Heather

### Verse 1

I spent so long behind these walls, Afraid to let somebody in. I carried dreams and silent scars, And wondered where my life would begin.

Then you came along, my Heather, And something changed inside my soul. You saw the man beneath the surface, And made a guarded heart feel whole.

### Pre-Chorus

And I don't have to be perfect, I don't have to hide my pain. With your hand resting in my hand, I'd walk through sunshine, I'd walk through rain.

### Chorus

Every day, I choose you, Every morning, every night. You're the one I want beside me, You're my home, my heart, my light.

Through the roses and the thorns, Through the joy and through the tears, I'll keep loving you, my Heather, Through the passing of the years.

With God to guide our footsteps, And His love to see us through, Forever isn't just a promise— It's every day, I choose you.

### Verse 2

Like a rose beneath the moonlight, Like a castle touched with gold, You remind me love is worth it, Even when the nights are cold.

And when fear comes knocking softly, When the road is hard to see, I'll remember why I found you, And the man I want to be.

I can't promise perfect weather, Or a life without goodbye. But I'll stand here right beside you, With a love that will still try.

### Pre-Chorus

We will learn and we will grow, Let forgiveness lead the way. And I'll never stop reminding you That you're my choice each day.

### Bridge

If the ballroom lights grow dim, If the music fades away, I'll still reach to hold your hand, And love you just the same.

You're not a dream, you're not a fairy tale, You're the woman I adore. And if I had to start again, I'd choose you even more.

No enchanted rose could tell All the love I feel inside. You're the answer to a prayer, And my blessing in this life.

### Final Chorus

Every day, I choose you, With my whole heart, with my soul. You're the love I want to cherish, You're the one who makes me whole.

Through the roses and the thorns, Till our hair turns silver-gray, I'll be reaching for your hand, my love, And choosing you each day.

With God to guide our footsteps, There's no dream we can't pursue. Heather, you're my always— And I'll spend my life choosing you.

### Outro — softly, over piano

Heather, if the stars should fade, And every rose should fall, I'd still find you in the darkness, I'd still answer when you call.

Two hearts… one story… One love to see us through.

Forever, Heather… Every day, I choose you. ❤️

### 🎹 How I imagine your song

The beginning

Soft piano, with a gentle male voice singing the first verse as if he's telling Heather his heart's story.

The chorus

Strings and drums gradually rise as you sing, “Every day, I choose you,” making it the emotional centerpiece.

The ending

Everything fades except the piano and your voice whispering, “Forever, Heather… every day, I choose you.”
