Your leaving mom behind

LYRICS:

[Verse 1]
Well Cameron, you’re forty now,
Look at you, you’re moving out somehow!
You’re smart and funny, caring too,
And Mom is mighty proud of you.

But then along came Hillary,
And suddenly you’re off to Sydney!
You’ve got your bags and you’ve got your plan,
Look at you, you’re a grown-up man!

[Pre-Chorus]
Well I tried to smile and say,
“Go ahead, go live your way!”
But deep inside I’m thinking, “Hey!
Who’s gonna come see Mom each day?”

[Chorus]
Oh Cameron, you’re leaving Mom behind!
You’re forty years old, so I guess that’s fine!
Off to Sydney, Nova Scotia,
With your Hillary by your side!

You found your girl, you found your place,
But Mom’s still gonna miss your face!
Go chase that love, go have your fun,
But don’t forget where you came from!

You’re leaving Mom behind!
Yep, you’re leaving Mom behind!
But no matter where you go,
You’ll always be my boy!

[Verse 2]
You’re packing boxes, loading stuff,
Saying, “Mom, you’ve worried enough!”
I say, “I’m fine, don’t worry about me,”
Then I cry when you can’t see!

You’ve got your plans and you’ve got your dreams,
And apparently Sydney’s where you wanna be.
I guess Hillary has won the fight,
She’s stealing my boy and taking him east tonight!

[Pre-Chorus]
Now I’m happy, yes I am,
But I’ve got one little problem, man…
You can move across the country if you choose,
But Mom still gets to tease you with these blues!

[Bridge]
Hey Hillary, listen up,
You’ve got yourself one lucky guy!
He’s funny, smart and full of heart,
But remember… Mom was here from the start!

So take good care of my Cameron,
And don’t let him forget his Mom!
Because if he starts getting too comfortable,
I’ll show up in Sydney before too long!

[Funny Break]
Cameron!
Who’s gonna call Mom now?

“I will, Mom!”

When?

“Uh… sometime?”

SOMETIME?!

That’s what I thought!

[Final Chorus]
Oh Cameron, you’re leaving Mom behind!
You’re forty years old, but you’re still mine!
Go to Sydney, chase your dreams,
Build a life with Hillary and live your dreams!

I’ll miss you more than words can say,
But I’ll still tease you every day!
Because no matter how far you roam,
You’ll always have your way back home!

You’re leaving Mom behind!
Yep, you’re leaving Mom behind!
But here’s the thing you better know…

You’re forty years old,
You’re grown,
You’re free…

BUT YOU’LL ALWAYS BE
MY BABY BOY TO ME!

[Outro]
So go on, Cameron…
Go be happy.
Go love Hillary,
Go make your new life.

Just remember…

MOM KNOWS WHERE SYDNEY IS! 😂

And I know how to get there!
