Yellow Star, Come Home

[Verse 1]
Yellow stars keep shining, bright above my room,
My own little star says, “Love will come here soon.”
Life doesn’t wait on somebody else to choose—
It’s mine to live, even with these empty shoes.

[Chorus]
Where’s my love, the one who’s late again?
Is there a love that shines like a star?
The sky is full of stars tonight—
Why does mine still feel so far?

[Verse 2]
I hum the same four chords, soft against the night,
C to G to Am to F, till the dark feels light.
I tell myself I’m fine, then watch the window glow—
Somewhere, someone’s looking up, but moving much too slow.

[Bridge]
Why, why doesn’t my love appear?
Why does this keep happening to me?
Maybe the stars know something I don’t—
Maybe one’s still finding its way here.

[Outro]
La la la, the stars hum low,
La la la… I’ll let it show.
