Influenced by Bicep, Disclosure, Four Tet, Aphex Twin. Liam O'Connell, known as Gantry, grew up in East Belfast in the shadow of the Samson and Goliath shipyard cranes. Now a bartender in London, he builds his hypnotic deep-house tracks on an old Akai sampler, using sounds recorded during his shifts: the clink of ice, the hum of the bar fridge, fragments of overheard conversations. His music is the sound of 4am in a city that never sleeps, crafted by someone who's always there to lock up.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The Akai's screen is a cold blue square.
Half-past three on a Wednesday, breathing the stale air.
I stretch the sample 'til it starts to tear,
Looking for the framework that was never there.

[Chorus]
(Sampled, pitched up) "It's all part of the blueprint."
(Sampled, chopped, stuttering) "The blue... the print... the blue..."

[Verse 2]
I pitch your laugh down to a minor key.
Find the stress point in the waveform, where you stopped looking at me.
The clink of the ice in the tumbler's a metronome I can't keep,
Just another load-bearing wall that's been built too steep.

[Chorus]
(Sampled, pitched up) "It's all part of the blueprint."
(Sampled, chopped, stuttering) "The blue... the print... the blue..."

[Bridge]
"Just press record," you told me once, "capture the decay."
Funny how the static sounds like Samson on a good day.

[Chorus]
(Sampled, pitched up, distorted) "It's all part of the blueprint!"
(Sampled, chopped, frantic) "The blue... the print... the blue..."

[Outro]
(Raw, unprocessed sample, faint room noise) "It's all part of the blue..."
(Silence, then one single, delayed acoustic piano chord)
