Influenced by Arthur Russell, Burial, Steve Reich, Fela Kuti. Field Kit (Leo Adebayo) learned to navigate London by the sound of its train lines, splitting his childhood between his mum's flat in Brixton and his dad's house in Sutton. A classically trained cellist, he abandoned formal training after discovering Burial on a late-night radio show, turning his instrument and a battered Zoom recorder into tools for mapping his city. His tracks are built from fragments—bow scrapes on cello strings, voice notes from friends, the rattle of the Victoria line—to create a raw, diary-like form of emotional house. These are the sounds of a life lived in the spaces in-between.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
You left the milk bottles out on the step of your Clapham semi.
I watched you check the locks twice, but you never felt me.
I can taste the diesel from the A23 on my tongue,
a low hum in the aerial, the song not yet sung.

[Chorus]
You don't have a name for me yet.
Just a whisper of change you'll forget.
You don't have a name for me yet.
Another London sky, another empty threat.

[Verse 2]
Your dad's prize-winning roses are tied up with twine.
"Don't you worry," he said on the telly, "everything's fine."
Thursday, tea-time. You're drawing the blinds on the glass,
never thinking about the things that aren't built to last.

[Bridge]
That crack in the pavement by the phone box is about to give.
Your spare key under the pot plant won't matter where you live.

[Outro]
(A cappella, whispered, stripped of all effects)
You don't have a name for me yet.
Not yet.
