BILLIONAIRES, BALLOTS AND DISTRACTIONS

Ohhh-ohhh, ohhh-ohhh…

Raise up your voices, let the old hills ring,

For the people are the heartbeat, not the crown of any king.

From the ballot box to the billionaire's hall,

We stand for the truth, and the truth belongs to all!

[VERSE 1 — Stomping folk rhythm, fiddle enters]

There's a rumour rolling thunder through the corners of the net,

That the votes are turning red and there's a truth we haven't met.

Are the numbers being counted? Are the systems working right?

Put the paper on the table, bring the questions to the light!

For a rumour isn't proof, and a claim is not a crime,

But the people have a right to know what's happening every time.

Let the auditors examine every ballot, every trace,

Let the facts decide the story, not the loudest in the race!

[PRE-CHORUS — Drums building, voices rising]

Raise the lantern! Sound the drum!

Let the independent reckonings come!

If the count is fair, then let it show!

No more shadows — let the evidence flow!

[CHORUS — Full band, gang vocals]

BILLIONAIRES, BALLOTS AND DISTRACTIONS!

Who's got the money? Who controls the action?

TRUMP! MUSK! THE PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW!

COUNT EVERY VOTE AND LET THE TRUTH SHOW!

With our boots on the earth and our eyes on the sky,

We won't let the hard questions simply pass us by!

BILLIONAIRES, BALLOTS AND DISTRACTIONS!

Democracy needs truth, not another distraction!

Ohhh-ohhh, let the people sing!

No one's above the law, no one's born a king!

[VERSE 2 — Celtic fiddle and pounding bodhrán]

Elon Musk has opened up his purse to back the Republican fight,

Millions flowing into campaigns as the midterms draw in sight.

Through America PAC and political machines,

Big money buys a megaphone and floods the public screens.

He can fund a candidate, he can pay to spread a view,

But the power of the ballot belongs to me and you!

Follow every dollar, show the donors, show the cost,

For a democracy grows weaker when accountability is lost.

It's not a crime to spend your wealth or argue for your side,

But the public deserves to see who's paying for the ride!

[PRE-CHORUS — Call and response]

LEAD: Who pays the piper?

CROWD: LET US KNOW!

LEAD: Who checks the numbers?

CROWD: SHOW US SO!

LEAD: Who owns the future?

CROWD: NOT THE FEW!

ALL: The power of the people must see the whole thing through!

[CHORUS — Bigger guitars, heavy toms]

BILLIONAIRES, BALLOTS AND DISTRACTIONS!

Who's got the money? Who controls the action?

TRUMP! MUSK! THE PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW!

COUNT EVERY VOTE AND LET THE TRUTH SHOW!

With our boots on the earth and our eyes on the sky,

We won't let the hard questions simply pass us by!

BILLIONAIRES, BALLOTS AND DISTRACTIONS!

Democracy needs truth, not another distraction!

[VERSE 3 — Dark Nordic folk-rock, low male vocal]

Now a Roadster takes the spotlight, with its thrusters reaching high,

A futuristic flying dream against the midnight sky.

The cameras chase the spectacle, the headlines fill the air,

But who is asking questions while the public stops to stare?

Is it business? Is it theatre? Is it simply brilliant hype?

Did it bury other stories? We must question what we type.

For a distraction is a theory till the evidence is clear,

But we mustn't lose the bigger picture when the spectacle appears.

Let the engineers explain it, let the journalists investigate,

And keep our eyes on public power while the billionaires create!

[BRIDGE — Acoustic guitar, fiddle lament, then rising drums]

We remember all the promises,

The speeches and the cheers,

The people standing shoulder-to-shoulder,

The hopes, the doubts, the fears.

No rumour is a verdict,

No fortune owns the truth,

No headline is a substitute

For evidence and proof!

So check the paper trail,

Let independent audits speak,

Make the powerful answer

When the public's questions peak!

[INSTRUMENTAL BREAK — Nordic folk-rock battle march]

Fiddle solo over stomping drums, acoustic strumming and soaring electric guitar.

CROWD CHANT:

COUNT! EVERY! VOTE!

FOLLOW! EVERY! DOLLAR!

ASK! THE! QUESTIONS!

MAKE! THE! POWERFUL! ANSWER!
