At first I was afraid
I was bloody petrified
Kept thinking why the hell
Did I decide to ride

I could of picked a normal hobby
Maybe knitting would of done
But no I bought a bloody helmet
And started riding just for fun

I’ve spent so many lessons
Going round those fucking cones
I’ve learned to use the clutch now
Without wishing I’d stayed home

But I’ll survive
Oh yes , I’ll bloody ride
As long as I can find the clutch
I know I’ll stay alive

I’ve got all my riding gear
And finally have some idea
How to ride the bloody bike
And not end up on my rear

My brain might take the scenic route
To get to where it needs to be
But give me time to process
And it’ll click eventually

My cbt is coming
And then I’ll really ride
For the first time on the open road
With Moonie by my side

I’m almost forty-eight
And measure five-foot-two
So when they bring a bigger bike out
I’m thinking, “fuck me… what’ll I do?”

Can I touch the floor
Can I reach the bloody ground
If I stop at traffic lights
I hope I don’t fall down

There’s Gary and there’s Moonie,
Chonny , Shaun , Leo and the crew
Watching me go around those cones
Like “what’s she gonna do”

I keep going round those cones
And every lesson I improve
I might swear a fucking lot
But eventually I nail the move

Those fucking cones have seen me
Going round them every side
But who’d have bloody thought it
I’d actually love to ride
