NEVER BEEN TIRED

NEVER BEEN TIRED

[Verse 1]

Taylor drinks his Budweiser warm
Hasn’t touched a vegetable since the day he was born
Got a stick in his leg, took it out with a knife
Ali married a man with nine lives

Never heard him say that he’s tired
Teenage Taylor had the techno wired
Took electric guitar lessons, gave rock a try
Now two little girls can make Superman cry

[Chorus]

He’ll find the one thing wrong in a photograph
Zoom in so far it’ll make you laugh
Never signs a card till somebody goes first
Then steals their words and makes ’em worse

He’ll prank you on Tuesday, help you on Wednesday
And never admit he did either one
That’s Taylor
Never been tired a day in his life

[Verse 2]

He was there when I shot my first deer
Been showing up for me year after year
Never made a speech, never needed applause
Just handled the things nobody saw

Now he walks with River when the house gets quiet
Still missing Tucker, though he’d probably deny it
“Tucker fucker” still gets said now and then
Some things stick around long after the end

[Instrumental Break]

[Final Chorus]

Ali’s got a husband who doesn’t need sleep
Two little girls have him wrapped up deep
He’ll write you a song before he’ll say how he feels
Then go fix something with blood on his heels

And every year when the hunting crew goes
He writes me into songs when I don’t even go
So here’s one for the guy who started that trend
My big brother, my backup, my friend

[Outro]

Seriously, Ali, keep an eye on that leg.
