Lyrics
Fantail of the Severomorsk, last sun of August.
Your knuckles were white on the cold guardrail.
I felt the hull steel vibrate through my boots,
the azimuth of your glance a question I wouldn't plot.
[Chorus]
Should have broken radio silence.
Just a ghost signal now.
[Verse 2]
You said, "The ice is early this year," and I just nodded.
Kept my watch, kept my distance.
Maintained depth on a clear channel,
a pattern too clean to be true.
[Chorus]
Should have broken radio silence.
Just a ghost signal now.
[Bridge]
A ping with no return.
Just the deep pressure on the hull.
[Outro]
Some messages never send.
