Influenced by Little Simz, Kano, The Streets, Ms Dynamite. WREN HAVOC was raised in the redbrick terraces of Moss Side, Manchester, by a scaffolder father and a pharmacist mother. At 17, a chronic illness diagnosis ended a promising athletic career, forcing her to trade the netball court for hospital waiting rooms, where her lyrical style was born. Her uniquely architectural rap was honed during quiet shifts at the John Rylands Library, inspired by the structural blueprints she shelved. These songs are dissections of the body, the city, and the systems that hold them together—or let them fall apart.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The pixels burn on ‘Curry Mile Crew’, a notification ghost,
Screen’s cold enough to feel like the rail at Piccadilly post.
Scrolling back to June, the last time that the scaffolding felt right,
Just a grid of static profile pics under the blue light.
We built this gaff on inside jokes and dial-up modem speed,
Laid the foundation deep enough to bury any need
To ever speak it out loud, the torsion in the joist was plain to see,
A hairline crack that spiderwebbed from you, then back to me.

[Pre-Chorus]
(Flow gets faster, beat strips back to just hi-hats and a low pulse)
Then the ticker tape of memes went quiet,
Then the birthday message left on riot,
Then the Sunday check-in, didn't try it,
Just the read receipt, the silent diet.
The loading bar, the spinning wheel,
The digital drift you can't un-feel,
The signal drops, the void gets real,
The…

[Chorus]
(Beat drops. Heavy, sparse 808. Piercing synth stab on the one.)
The server's dead.
Left the whole damn thing on read.
Just the cold joint 'tween the blueprint and the last thing that you said.
Yeah, the server's dead.
Empty space inside my head.
Just the cold joint where the concrete never set.

[Verse 2]
Remember that night by the canal, freezing on the brick,
Said the Ancoats cranes were skeletons, a slow, metallic trick.
You drew our futures on a napkin from a Greggs, a masterplan,
Now the ink is faded, folded up inside a cookie tin.
The whole architecture shifted, couldn't pinpoint the decay,
Subsidence of a thousand tiny choices, day by day.
Last text read, "'You good?' at 2 AM, the week the clocks went back."
Three dots just blinked like faulty wiring, then the screen went black.

[Pre-Chorus]
(Flow gets faster again, beat strips back again)
Then the link you sent was left unopened,
Then the shared location tag was broken,
Every status was a dead-end token,
Every character was left unspoken.
The loading bar, the spinning wheel,
The digital drift you can't un-feel,
The signal drops, the void gets real,
The…

[Chorus]
(Beat drops hard again.)
The server's dead.
Left the whole damn thing on read.
Just the cold joint 'tween the blueprint and the last thing that you said.
Yeah, the server's dead.
Empty space inside my head.
Just the cold joint where the concrete never set.

[Bridge]
(Music drops to a low 808 hum. A crowd of layered, syncopated WHISPERS enters as percussion, whispering old inside jokes: "Moss Side Massive..." "Platt Fields...")
The facade is still standing, you can see it from the tram.
Just a monument to something that got caught up in the spam.
The support structure's gone, but no one sent the memo out.
Just a quiet demolition, not a bang, and not a shout.

[Outro]
(Beat returns for two bars, then cuts. Vocal is stark, with a final synth note hanging.)
The server's dead.
Just the cold joint instead.
