Lyrics
Oh Jah, You have been faithful!
I walked through the fire,
I cried through the night,
But I never gave up.
Today I can say—
THE BATTLE IS OVER!
[VERSE 1]
I remember the days when the road was hard,
I remember the nights when I cried to Jah.
People said I would never make it through,
But Jah held my hand and He brought me through.
Every mountain that stood in my way,
Jah gave me strength to face it each day.
Every tear that I cried in the darkness,
Jah turned my sorrow into happiness.
[PRE-CHORUS]
So lift up your hands,
And give Jah praise!
Dance with joy,
For He has made a way!
[CHORUS — BIG, POWERFUL]
The battle is over!
The victory is mine!
Jah bring me through,
And now I shine!
The battle is over!
My sorrow is gone!
I dance in the morning,
I praise Jah all day long!
Oh-oh-oh!
The battle is over!
Oh-oh-oh!
The victory is mine!
[INSTRUMENTAL BREAK — HEAVY REGGAE BEAT]
Deep bass, powerful drums, reggae guitar skank, Hammond organ and joyful gospel choir.
[VERSE 2]
I faced the storm, but the storm could not stay,
Jah opened the road and He showed me the way.
When the enemy thought that I would fall,
Jah stood beside me and answered my call.
Now I have joy that nobody can steal,
A brand-new heart and a blessing so real.
I look to the sky and I lift up my voice,
Jah gave me victory, so I rejoice!
[PRE-CHORUS]
So lift up your hands,
And give Jah praise!
Dance with joy,
For He has made a way!
[CHORUS — BIGGER]
The battle is over!
The victory is mine!
Jah bring me through,
And now I shine!
The battle is over!
My sorrow is gone!
I dance in the morning,
I praise Jah all day long!
[CALL AND RESPONSE — CHOIR]
LEAD: Who bring me through?
CHOIR: Jah bring me through!
LEAD: Who give me joy?
CHOIR: Jah give me joy!
LEAD: Who make a way?
CHOIR: Jah make a way!
LEAD: What can I say?
CHOIR: The battle is over!
[BRIDGE — BUILDING]
No more crying!
No more fear!
Jah is with me,
Jah is near!
I survived!
I overcame!
I give the glory
To Jah holy name!
[FINAL CHORUS — FULL POWER]
The battle is over!
The victory is mine!
Jah bring me through,
And now I shine!
The battle is over!
My sorrow is gone!
I dance in the morning,
I praise Jah all day long!
[OUTRO — JOYFUL CHOIR]
The battle is over!
The battle is over!
Victory!
Victory!
Victory belongs to Jah!
[Instrumental ending — joyful reggae groove]
