Texas of the North

[Verse 1]
The northern lights burn green above Fort McMurray tonight,
A drilling rig cuts the dark beneath their wild northern light.
From foothills down to prairie, old truck engines roar,
Texas of the North—we’ve got one more mile in store.

[Chorus]
Alberta USA, raise that flag up high,
Rockies standing watch beneath a wide western sky.
Strong and free together, let the whole world hear us say:
Proud of where we come from—Alberta USA.

[Verse 2]
Cowboys cross the grasslands, farmers work the wheat,
Roughnecks pull another shift as sunset leaves the street.
From Edmonton to Calgary, Medicine Hat and far,
Big wheels roll past grazing herds beneath the evening star.

[Chorus]
Alberta USA, raise that flag up high,
Rockies standing watch beneath a wide western sky.
Strong and free together, let the whole world hear us say:
Proud of where we come from—Alberta USA.

[Bridge]
Drill, baby, drill—the cold north wind can blow;
From oil sands to southern ranches, we’ve got work to do.
Campfire guitar, a trucker headed home,
One song on the radio, wherever we may roam.

[Outro]
From Fort McMurray down to Calgary, hear the people say:
Texas of the North forever—Alberta USA.
