She learned the world through her

She learned the world through her hands and feet
Cold river hot summer heat
Made dolphins out of Idaho snow
Before she’d ever see one go

She learned that some doors don’t open kind
Some roads you have to make and find
So she quit waiting for a hand
Said move , I’ll do the best I can

And she’s barefoot and feral
Half wildfire half home
She’ll disappear into the mountains
Just to remember what she knows
She’s got a ocean in her heart beat
A little thunder in her soul
She doesn’t need you to save her
Just love her and let her go

There a black dog walking at her side
And a little queen along for the ride
And one old bear who’s learned somehow
When to hold on and when to back down
She loves like something built to stay
But don’t mistake that love for tame

She’s barefoot and feral
Half wildfire half home
She’ll put her feet into water
Any where this whole world goes
She’s got dragons in her day dreams
Old scars nobody owns
She don’t need you to save her
Just love her and let her roam

And somewhere there’s a ocean with a dolphin she hasn’t met
Somewhere Scotland is waiting
Under skies she hasn’t touched yet
And she’ll get there when she gets there
Hell that always how she’s been
Give her one road she’s never traveled
She’ll want to know what’s at the end

Barefoot and feral
Still curious and wild
Forty eight years could take that away
That stubborn little child
She’ll get lost just to find something
She’ll love with everything she owns
Don’t build a cage around her
Just be there when she comes home
