“Whose house is this?”
“The little monsters’ house!”
“Really little monsters live here?”
“Yes I heard there are eight little monsters here!”

Children: “Little monsters, are you there?”
Monsters: “Yes, we’re here—but do you dare?”
[Door creaks]
Monsters: “BOO!”
[Children laugh. Bouncy music begins.]

One little monster, come out to play!
Lil Wolf Boy howls, “I’m on my way!”
Two little monsters, stomping through—
Lil Frankenstein says, “How do you do?”
Three—Lil Mummy starts to sway.
Four—Invisible Boy shouts, “This way!”
Five—Lil Dragon flaps up high.
Six—Lil Dracula waves nearby.
Seven—Lil Ghost floats into view.
Eight—Lil Goblin giggles, “BOO!”
Eight little monsters shout, “Hooray!”
“Open the gate! Let’s go and play!”

Little monsters, come out to play!
Stamp your feet and shout “Hooray!”
Let’s scare the humans away!

“We’re still here!”
[Verse 2 — The Three Little Pigs]
Three little pigs come down the lane:
“Here comes that Big Bad Wolf again!”
Lil Wolf Boy says, “Stand next to me—
We’ll howl together! One, two, three!”

The Big Bad Wolf jumps back in fright:
“Who made that dreadful noise tonight?”
“Just us!” the pigs and monsters say.
“Now take a breath—and come and play!”

“We’re still here!”

They scatter through the countryside.
The children count beside a tree:
“Seven, eight! Where can they be?”
A tail sticks out, a wing pokes through,
A floating hat gives one more clue.
Lil Ghost sneezes, “Ah-ah-BOO!”
The children laugh, “We’ve found you too!”
[Bridge — heavy footsteps]
“Who’s coming now?”
“The BIG monsters!”
Wolf Man howls! Big feet shake!
How big a BOO can we all make?
[Whispered]
Little monsters: “All together!”
Children: “We’ll help!”

[Music returns]
Wolf Man squeaks! Dracula hops!
Mummy spins! Frankenstein stops!
The big monsters laugh and say:
“You nearly scared us all away!”
