How can you fulfill a duty when you’re kept from the chair?

Doing due diligence because homeowners care.

Then September came with another restriction,
Five emails a week became the new condition.
Hearing notices followed, accusations were made,
Fifteen thousand dollars in fines were assessed and paid.

Hostile emails, a mailer, vendor contact too,
Different allegations all coming into view.
While I kept asking questions and raising concerns,
The pressure kept building with every turn.

A statement about a firearm that I believed the Board should learn.
Instead of the safety issue becoming the focus that day,
A complaint against the person reporting it came my way.

By November, emails showed how it began,
Questions about who brought the complaint and when.
I asked for an open hearing, asked to be heard,
Because due process matters with every word.

January came, certified complaints went in,
Still asking where accountability should begin.
Records, enforcement, governance and more,
Questions that had been raised many times before.

February twelfth, Budget and Finance met,
I was Treasurer and liaison, but no notice did I get.
Financial variances were being reviewed that day,
While the Treasurer and Board liaison was kept away.

February twentieth brought words meant to demean,
And talk of putting removal on a future meeting scene.
When directors disagree, professionalism should remain,
Not bullying, insults, retaliation or disdain.

While I still had Board responsibilities to do.

Then March twenty-fifth brought another change.
Five thousand dollars over the firearm report,
Then an offer tied to resignation of a different sort.
