Integer Limit

We sit on plastic chairs the colour of old margarine,

They're calculating futures that were never ours to own.
They plot us on a graph, a variable to factor out the block,
A standard deviation they can tidy, turn the key and lock.
They speak in clean equations, but the numbers never fit the sum,
'Cause we the concrete constant that their logic can't overcome.

They draw the asymptote, a line we're never meant to cross,
We get so close we feel the heat, the static, and the loss.
There's a limit they can't prove, a value hidden in the noise,
