As you leave school and begin the next chapter of your lives,
I want you to remember one thing:
* You are each a star in your own way.
You don't have to shine like anyone else. Your light is uniquely yours.
Life will not always be easy. There will be days when you feel lost, disappointed,
overwhelmed or unsure of yourself. And that's okay. Be human. Have a cry when you
need to. Take a breath. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward.
Keep rising. Keep going. Never stop believing
that there is something beautiful waiting for you around the next corner.
Don't measure your life only by achievements, marks, money or titles.
Celebrate the journey. The places you go, the lessons you learn, the mistakes that teach you,
the moments that make you laugh - and most importantly, the beautiful people you meet
along the way. Some people will enter your life for a season, some for a reason,
and some will stay for a lifetime. Each will leave something behind and,
in some way. become part of your story.
I am so grateful that our paths crossed during your school journey.
I have watched you learn, grow, struggle, laugh, challenge yourselves
and become the young people you are today.
I will miss you more than you probably realise.
But I leave you with something that matters to me more than any lesson
I could have taught you in mathematics:
I hope you remember how you were treated.
I hope you remember that you were listened to, cared for, encouraged
and believed in. That sometimes a little kindness can change someone's day -
and sometimes it can change someone's life. Take that with you.
Be the person who makes someone else feel seen.
Be kind when you have the choice.
Love without expecting something in return.
Lift others as you rise.
Because that is what our world needs more of.
My beautiful Year 12s, I am incredibly proud of you.
Go out into this big, beautiful world.
Find your path. Find your people. Find yourself.
