Influenced by Metro Boomin, John Carpenter, Vangelis, The Alchemist, Future. Kaelen Grave was supposed to be an electrical engineer from Purdue. Instead, he dropped out to make beats, channeling the industrial decay of his Gary, Indiana hometown into menacing, cinematic trap. Raised on his grandmother's Creole cooking and the hum of dying steel mills, he uses his classical piano training to write horror-score melodies over bone-rattling 808s. These are the hypnotic anthems for a city haunted by the future that never was.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The lobby thermostat reads sixty-eight degrees, my new key fob is cold.
Reflection in the chrome door handle isn't who I'm told
I am now. New zip code, same low-voltage soul.
Paid in full, the balance zero, but I still feel the toll.
Pacing on this polished concrete, used to be cracked pavement.
Trying to find a trace of promises we made in the basement.
Every wire in my mainframe's had a full replacement.
But I still feel the schematic that your memory's engraved with.

[Chorus]
Replaced the boards and ripped the nails.
Replaced the face behind the veil.
New ship, same ghost in the sail.
Told myself this isn't failure.

[Verse 2]
I tried to overwrite the data, byte by corrupted byte.
The smell of chicory and rain under that weak porch light.
You said, "The rust just proves it's real," your hand on the fender's peel.
So I buffed it out, I primered it, I learned how not to feel.
Scrubbed the drive of every file, rerouted every feed.
Planted flowers in the yard to kill off all the weeds.
Swapped the hardware out for something built for different speeds.
But the ghost in the machine still knows my deepest needs.

[Instrumental Breakdown]
(No vocals for 20 seconds)

[Chorus]
Replaced the boards and ripped the nails.
Replaced the face behind the veil.
New ship, same ghost in the sail.
Told myself this isn't failure.

[Outro]
The alloy bends back into shape when the heat's off.
It's just a phantom load now... right?
