I thought about you today

That you’re still out there.

Maybe silence has a language,
Maybe I just learned to hear
All the things we never said
Still hanging in the air.

I don’t need you to explain,
I don’t need you to come near.
I don’t need anything from you—
I just need you to still be here.

So if the nights get heavy,
If you stop caring where they lead,
Remember somewhere in this world
You matter more than you believe.

I just need you
to still be here.

Time has a way of changing
The names we give the past,
But some people leave a shadow
That the years can’t quite outlast.

And lately I’ve been wondering
If you’re taking care of you.
There are questions I won’t ask,
But that doesn’t make them less true.

There are silences that mean nothing,
And some that say too much.
There are words we never spoke
That somehow stayed with us.

I don’t need you to explain,
I don’t need you to come near.
I don’t need anything from you—
I just need you to still be here.

So if the nights get heavy,
If you stop caring where they lead,
Remember somewhere in this world
You matter more than you believe.

I just need you
to still be here.

Maybe we were never meant
To finish every sentence.
Maybe some things only last
Because we left them unfinished.

But if you ever lose the thread,
If the world goes dark and strange,
There’s one thing I would tell you
That the years have never changed—

You don’t owe me an answer.
You don’t owe me yesterday.
You don’t have to turn around
Or find the perfect thing to say.

Just take a little care
With the life you’re walking through.
Because somewhere, quietly,
Someone still worries about you.

And if you ever wonder
Whether anybody would care—

I would.

So please,
still be here.
