2030

**[Verse 1]**
Same old street, same corner shop
Same two mates that I nearly lost
Mum still asks if I am eating alright
Dad still works late most nights

I was seventeen, dreaming big
Thinking I would have it all by twenty-six
But nobody tells you growing up
Means watching people change enough

**[Pre-Chorus]**
And I do not know where the years will go
But there is something I need you to know

**[Chorus]**
If you are hearing my voice from 2030
I hope you made it somewhere you wanted
I hope you kept the ones who stayed
And did not let your pride get in the way

I hope you called when you missed them
Said “I love you” while you still could
If you are hearing my voice from 2030
Tell me… did we turn out good?

**[Verse 2]**
Remember that night by the River Thames
Saying we would never become like them
Talking about leaving, talking about life
Like we had forever on our side

Then one moved out, one changed his crowd
One stopped calling, one settled down
Funny how a whole damn chapter ends
Without anybody saying goodbye to their friends

**[Pre-Chorus]**
So if you are somewhere I cannot see
Do not forget who you used to be

**[Chorus]**
If you are hearing my voice from 2030
I hope you made it somewhere you wanted
I hope you kept the ones who stayed
And did not let your pride get in the way

I hope you called when you missed them
Said “I love you” while you still could
If you are hearing my voice from 2030
Tell me… did we turn out good?

**[Bridge]**
Maybe we got the house we talked about
Maybe we are still trying to figure it out
Maybe the dream changed halfway through
Maybe that is what growing up is supposed to do

And if you did not become who you planned
I hope you still respect the man
Who kept on walking when he had no clue
What tomorrow was gonna do

**[Final Chorus]**
If you are hearing my voice from 2030
I do not need to know if we are rich or famous
Just tell me Mum is still laughing
And Dad still says we are wasting time

Tell me those boys still remember
The stupid dreams we had at eighteen
If you are hearing my voice from 2030
I hope you are proud of who we have been

**[Outro]**
And if I could send one thing back
It would not be money, it would not be fame
I would just say, “Do not rush through this life…”
Some things do not come back again.
